Masks from a retired surgeon

Rain Trueax from about as many years ago as this blog was created. Years ago, I had an idea for a blog that would bring people together. I did nothing with it but here it was when I needed a place to share something I had read on Facebook but that had no link with it that would allow others to read it. So I copied it and pasted it here.  Maybe I will find a use for Covered Bridge after all. ~~~~~ Worthy rant from a retired surgeon: MASKS in the COVID 19 world: RETIRED SURGEON Sam Laucks, has this to say about wearing masks: “OK, here’s my rant about masks: I have spent the past 39 years working in the field of surgery. For a significant part of that time, I have worn a mask. I have worked with hundreds (probably thousands) of colleagues during those years, who have also worn masks. Not a single one us of became ill, passed out or died from lack of oxygen. Not a single one of us became ill, passed out or died from breathing too much carbon dioxide. Not a single one

Covered Bridge

Bridges are practical but also symbolic of that which sometimes is required to unite two sides. They join people together. A covered bridge, because it's old-fashioned but still functional, is a link between the past and the present to the future. I hope for all of this in this blog, that it be a place to share ideas, to share experiences in traveling the road of life. Friendships are also bridges. This painting is a watercolor by my friend, Diane Widler Wenzel. I came home one day from town and propped up on a chair there it was. She had been out to paint while I was not and she painted the nearby covered bridge with our lilacs in full bloom. It is symbolic of a giving friendship of many years and the bridge that stands behind it of two women who met many years ago, shared their lives, their thoughts and stayed friends through it all.
